The term Internet of Things was first used by Kevin Ashton in 1999.

Refers to uniquely identifiable objects (things) and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure.

Many big technology industries like apple, Intel, ARM, Google, IBM, Texas Instruments and Microsoft havewelcomed IoT and are putting huge investments and R&D efforts in this domain.Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) predicts some 25 billion devices willbe connected by 2015, and 50 billion by 2020.

Those above Figure shows the basic uses of IoT.
